What’s the story behind your nickname?
When my mother had stomach ache, father was not at home, mother was alone in the house and it was raining a lot.
At that time my mother was 15 years old, mother did not know why her stomach was hurting, now she started crying and while crying, she reached a neighboring house, where my aunt understood and she took mother in a rickshaw. Took and admitted to a hospital named Mariampur
It is a matter of 1973 that father got the card made for that hospital, it is a government hospital, which is still in Kanpur, mother had no one but doctors and nurses were helping my mother, now mother was suffering from pain there all night. But even at that time no one was with her and it was raining a lot, at that time there was neither phone nor any means, people used to travel on rickshaws and cycles, at some places tempos used to walk, that’s why no one could come to mummy.
I was born on a Sunday at 12 o’clock in the night, now my mother was holding me on a bed, she had some clothes which she had taken with her, she was given hot milk by the people there, I was crying a lot, maybe I was also hungry. Mother also started crying seeing me, she was also a doll of 15 years.
When the mother was crying, the nurse said that your baby is hungry, now feed her your milk.
Mummy didn’t know how to feed, the nurse taught her to feed, my stomach was full and I fell asleep
The nurse who used to take care of me had come from Kerala, she used to call me as Anupama seeing her everyone started calling me Anupama and later on my father also got my name written as Anupama in school.
The reason why the nurse gave me this name was because I was the youngest in the hospital and I used to see everyone and I liked that nurse very much, my mother used to tell me all these things when we were together, then my mother used to tell all the stories.
Mummy says she never met that nurse but gave you this name as a gift
